Extended Description (150 words)

The Chobe Film Awards is a new international film festival built to celebrate distinctive voices in world cinema. Rooted in Kasane, Botswana — where the Chobe River meets four African nations and draws the largest elephant population on Earth — the festival offers filmmakers from every continent a prestigious stage on African soil.

The inaugural edition invites feature films (over 40 minutes) and short films (under 40 minutes) across all genres. The Official Selection will be announced on 19 August 2027, and the awards ceremony will take place on 7 October 2027 in Kasane. Submissions are open now at chobefilmawards.site, with Early Bird fees starting at $25 for features and $15 for shorts.

From the Founder

"Chobe is a place where the world comes together — four nations meeting at one river. We wanted a festival that reflects that: world cinema, one stage, in one of the most extraordinary places on the continent."

— Boitshoko Jeremia, Founder & Festival Director
