About the Festival

A New Home for World Cinema in Africa

The Chobe Film Awards is an international film festival founded to celebrate distinctive voices in cinema and to give filmmakers from Africa and around the world a prestigious stage in one of the continent's most extraordinary settings.

01

Celebrate Craft

We honour directors, cinematographers, and storytellers whose work demonstrates vision, discipline, and emotional power.

02

Champion Africa

We place African cinema at the centre of the international conversation, while welcoming filmmakers from every continent.

03

Build a Legacy

The Chobe Film Awards is built for the long term — an annual meeting point for cinema, culture, and conservation.

Kasane · Botswana

Where Four Nations Meet

Kasane sits at the meeting point of Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe — the only place on Earth where four countries converge in a single landscape. The Chobe River runs through it, drawing the largest elephant population in the world and one of Africa's great wildlife spectacles.

The Chobe Film Awards is proud to be rooted here. Choosing Kasane as our home is a statement: that world-class cinema can belong anywhere, and that a festival can be both intimate and international.

Guests attending the ceremony will have the opportunity to experience the Chobe National Park — the same landscape that has inspired our identity.
